Hi, I’m Cathy, founder of Running2Run, and I’m certified as a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Level 1 coach and a VDOT coach.
My path to running wasn’t built on elite competition; it was built on consistency, patience, and learning how to train intelligently over time. That perspective shapes how I coach today.
I specialize in working with new and returning runners, particularly those who want a thoughtful, sustainable approach as they get older. My focus is simple:

Coaching Options
Beginner & Returning Runner Plans
Structured, self-guided programs for runners who prefer an independent approach. These plans are designed to help you gradually and safely build aerobic endurance. All plans are customized based on your questionnaire responses and delivered securely through the VDOT platform. Allow 24-48 hours for customization.
12-Week Beginner Walk/Run Plan
This plan is ideal for individuals who:
- Are ready to transition from walking to structured run intervals
- Prefer a guided plan without ongoing coaching
- Want a clear, gradual progression
- Value consistency over speed
16-Week Beginner Walk/Run Plan
A longer, self-guided progression for those who prefer a more conservative foundation phase.
This extended foundation phase is ideal for:
- New and Returning Runners after a significant time away
- Runners over 60
- Individuals who want or need additional time for joint, tendon, and ligament adaptation
- For those who feel more confident, progressing slowly
Like the 12-week option, this plan is self-guided and designed for runners who are comfortable training independently.
Personalized Coaching
For runners who want ongoing support, feedback, and plan adjustments.
This option includes:
- Fully customized training
- Ongoing communication
