I love running gear, all kinds! And this is my right out of the mail NYC marathon motivator…for now anyway (I have gotten over the fact that it cost more than $30.00 to ship to Alaska!) It fits so nice, perfect! Now I just have to keep running.
The running has been going fairly well. I think I will always have some problems with my achilles, but it has been really tender since the race. Its hard to pinpoint exactly what brought on the pain …we won’t let the fact that I ran all out for that 5k enter any part of the reasoning process…that could’t be it, there has to be something else. Like, I had returned to yoga (Bikrim), ran in new running shoes, and I have been doing different therapies with my chiropractor. All or any part of which could be contributing factors. This is almost like a deja vu experience. I wrote about this very thing around this same time last year. I was also trying to figure out what was the compelling factor then! And obviously, I still haven’t figured it out….So…I am going to take a more systematic and methodical approach to understand what is really going on here! How is it that I can run for days without much pain and then other days I can’t run at all. What’s happening??!! I will report back when I have an answer to this mystery.
I have taken this past week off from both running and yoga. For one, I was sick with the flu and secondly, my foot was very tender. But, I did manage a 5 miler on the day that we got a foot of snow! Yes, that was Spring letting us know it was arriving????
Having given my foot a break, it is feeling much better today. I have an appointment with my chiropractor, so maybe he will have some insight. Hopefully, I will be back running tomorrow.

Running in snow has got to be harder energy wise, but softer impact?

Exactly!!
