It was hard...

Yes, I do want to review the cancellation policy:

Okay, just reassurance that I still have guaranteed entry into next year as long as I pay the fees.

Once I hit the cancel entry button, it gave me a chance to think about it. I have been thinking about it for some time so unfortunately yes, I do want to cancel for this year.

And just like that I am no longer in the New York City Marathon. But I have had time to adjust somewhat and my family and friends have been so wonderful and so supportive! We are all looking forward to next year. I canceled due to injury and lack of training.  I have a year to get ready and training will go much better starting out not injured.

In the meantime, I am still going to New York as a tourist and I will enjoy the race as a spectator. I am looking forward to my trip with Scott, Krista, and Rob.

As far as running goes, I am taking a break to allow my achilles to heal, continuing to see the chiropractor, and developing a much smarter training plan.

Hard choice, but a smart choice.
