I was really worried that somehow I was going to screw up my entrance into the NYC Marathon for 2016. I wasn’t sure how to claim my spot, but once the registration opened today, I was prepared to figure it all out.
And it was sooo easy! I logged onto NYRR and I got a pop-up window that said “You did it Cathy” hit accept to claim quaranteed entry! It doesn’t get any easier than that. I hit accept, filled out the registration form, and paid the huge fees. Then, I checked my email for the receipt and that’s when I saw this email:
Really easy…super sweet!
And the verification:
So exciting to get this notification and to not have to wait until March to find out if I am in or not. That was so agonizing last year!
But, moving on…I have been running about 3-4 days a week, easy miles with some walking. Today I ran 2.5 miles after a 10 minute warm-up. It was great! I am looking forward to this year, and I plan to be a little smarter about my training. I am even tracking the days on this handy wall calendar that I got from Ilovetorun.org. It may seem weird but last year I was really surprised by how many days I missed due to injury, work, and etc… I want to be able to see it all “at a glance”.
This has been quite the journey so far, but even more exciting news is that there will be even more family members cheering me on this time around! Can’t wait!
I am running the NYC Marathon this year!
